Players Only and SportsBook.com are moving to The Merge Network in mid April 2010. A deal has been made between Jazette Enterprises "owners of Sportsbook.com, Players Only and Superbook.com"
and Merge Gaming to migrate all players from the Cake Network to the Merge Network in mid April 2010. Some of
the top poker rooms on the Merge Network include Carbon Poker, PDC Poker, Aced and Poker Nordica. This is great news for players already using Merge Gaming poker rooms. This should create much better games on the
Merge Network, giving players alot more tables to choose from with all the new traffic that will be gained
from the Sportsbook and Players Only Players, not to mention the traffic already gained earlier this month from
Pokerhost.coms move from Cake to Merge. With alot of sports bettors coming from Sportsbook.com, the field on the Merge Network will most likely become much softer as well. With Sportsbook and PlayersOnly being on the smaller side of the traffic spectrum as far as the Cake Network goes, Cake should not be hit to hard by the move. With sites like Doyles Room and Cake Poker there traffic will still be on the higher end of the industry. They are currently boasting a seven day running average of 2,150 ring game players, "that's ninth world wide", not to mention the opening of Phil Laak's "Unabomber Poker" opening it's doors earlier this week, so don't worry about them going down or anything like that. I don't have much of a personal opinion on the move due to the fact I enjoy both the networks equally for different reasons but I'd love to hear your opinions on it.
