Overall Review Carbon Poker is still relatively new to the online poker market but is currently the most popular poker room on the Merge Network. Carbon Poker's real money player statistics currently show 1,700 ring game players and 6,000 tournament players at peak hours as of December 2011. Traffic is expected to continue increasing with the growing popularity of the Merge gaming network though.Carbon Poker offers poker at every variation and stake including Texas Holdem, Omaha and Seven Card Stud in all versions, H.O.R.S.E. and other mixed games, Razz, Five Card Stud, Five Card Draw, A-5 Lowball, 2-7 Lowball and Badugi. The stakes range from play money and micro limits to $25/$50. The Carbon Poker player base is full of loose and inexperienced players which makes playing there very profitable, even at the micro stakes. On top of the initial deposit bonus mentioned above Carbon Poker's promotions include a frequent player program where you earn VIP points for playing raked hands at ring games or buy in fees for tournaments and you can use these points to buy into restricted freerolls when you reach different VIP statuses. They also started a new freeroll schedule as of April 2009 that offers $50 freerolls open to everyone at least every four hours, weekly freerolls worth $2,000-$10,000 and a monthly $50,000 freeroll. Another good promotion from Carbon Poker is the Royal Flush bonus that pays out 100 times the big blind up to $1,000 just for hitting a royal flush. The Carbon Poker software is very innovative, has clean graphics and offers great functionality. Some of the special software features include a "rabbit hunt" feature allowing players to see the next card in the deck on a folded hand and a "show one card feature". Overall Carbon Poker delivers a good poker experience but is still lacking in the high stakes department. With the growing poularity of the Merge Network I predict that the high stakes tables will be filling up soon though. |
