PokerStars will once again allow players to represent their countries along with top site pros in the PokerStars America’s Cup of Poker. Online qualifiers will team up with PokerStars pros in a live event in Rosario, Argentina from May 30th through May 31st to determine whose nation is the best in poker. In addition, players will be competing for $100,000 in prize money.

A league tournament format will determine which eight countries will compete against each other in Argentina. The nations eligible to participate are the United States, Canada, Mexico, Chile, Columbia, Venezuela, Brazil, Peru, Argentina, and the remaining Latin American countries will play as the "Rest of LatAm."

Country Vs. Country

Each country vs. country match will last for three days. The first two days will be played as freeroll, $11 + $1.10 tournaments. On the third day, there is a "Power Play" event with an $11 buy-in. Players that placed amongst the top of the field in the prior days events will get a free entry into the Power Play event. Points will be awarded to a country based on the finishing position of players in the events. The country with the most points wins the match.

The top four online players for a country will earn a spot on their country's live team in the event that their team advances to the live final. The first six spots will be filled by the countries that have the most wins. The other two spots will be filled via a playoff between the remaining four teams.

Live Finals

Eight countries will then move on to the live finals in Rosario, Argentina. The teams will consist of four online qualifiers and a Team PokerStars Pro. The pro will serve as team captain. The teams then battle it out with each team guaranteed a minimum of $5,000. The team that takes down the event will receive $25,000 and receive the America’s Cup of Poker title.

You don't have to risk a dime to take part in the ACP promotion. Freerolls are held around the clock for the $11 event. These freerolls are 36 player, sit & go tournaments that award a seat to the winner.

In addition, there will be multiple $1,000 freerolls during the promotion. You can earn your way into these freerolls by either making an initial deposit, making a reload deposit, or you can choose to "fund a friend." If you fund a friend for at least $55 and they play in any ACP qualifying tournament, you will receive an entry into one of the $1,000 freerolls. Three freerolls are held each Sunday and you can earn up to three free seats each week.
