Today, May 11th, 2011 DoylesRoom completely revamped their site with a major software upgrade that includes many new features as well as faster and smoother game play with less disconnects and better graphics.

After DoylesRoom moved to the U.S. friendly Yatahay Network in January of this year many players were complaining about the slow and extremely dated software used by the network and many of them were uninstalling the software and moving to other poker rooms. The most notable features that have been added to the software include resizable tables, the ability to tile or cascade tables for multi-tableing, an extended time bank, an auto-rebuy option, the ability to show or muck your cards on winning hands, improved late registration for tournaments and a chop pot feature that allows the small and big blind to chop the pot if everyone else has folded at a ring game table.

Along with all the new software features offered in the upgrade, DoylesRoom has also added two new games (7 Card Stud and 32 Card Poker), progressive bad beat jackpot tables and straddle tables. The straddle tables are definitely a great addition that not many online poker rooms offer but have been available at the live tables for years. In case you aren't aware, a straddle bet is when the player to the left of the big blind doubles the big blind before seeing there hole cards, effectively taking the big blind position pre-flop. Straddle bets always make for bigger pots and better action and I'm glad to see them finally being offered at the online tables.
